Transfer News: Chelsea striker could leave the club on a permanent deal in January transfer window

Ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window, Chelsea football club will most definitely aim to raise some funds by offloading several fringe players in their squad.

Do remember that the West London club splashed the cash during the summer transfer window as they completed the signings of Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Djordje Petrovic, Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

Chelsea football club will now aim to recoup some funds by cashing in on several fringe players in the team when the forthcoming transfer window opens in January.

And if reports are anything to go by, then experienced Chelsea centre-forward Romelu Lukaku could now leave the club on a permanent deal when the transfer window opens.

The 30-year-old Belgium International, who signed up for Chelsea football club after departing Inter Milan back in 2021 has struggled to hit the ground running at the club since he made the move.

Romelu Lukaku failed to impress in his first season at Chelsea football club and the experienced striker was loaned back to Serie A side Inter Milan for the 2022/2023 season.

Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea last summer before he was loaned out to AS Roma where he has impressed so far this season, scoring nine goals in just 13 matches in all competitions.

His excellent performances while on loan at AS Roma has impressed the board and according to reports from Transfer News Live, the Serie A side are keen on signing him on a permanent deal.

The reports further claimed that AS Roma are very delighted with the performances of Romelu Lukaku at the club and are now making moves to sign him on a permanent deal from Chelsea football club.

It is believed that AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho wants to keep Romelu Lukaku at the club and will negotiate with Chelsea in order to sign him on a permanent deal next summer.

But then, it remains to be seen if Chelsea football club will reach an agreement with AS Roma and offload Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal when his loan contract expires in June 2024.
