NEW 4-1 CHE: Terrible Mistakes made by Pochettino That Made Chelsea Lose The Game

Ten-man Chelsea suffered a disappointing defeat at St James Park to Newcastle United today. Alexander Isak scored the opener before Raheem Sterling's free-kick levelled the game. Newcastle scored three goals in the second half to seal the 4-1 win. However here are the terrible mistakes made by Pochettino that made Chelsea lose the game:

Awful Selections in the Defence

Pochettinomade awful selections in his defence today as bench Colwill and Disasi who have both been brilliant for Chelsea this season to give Benoit Badiashile and Thiago Silva the nod. Chelsea's defence committed several mistakes today which led to the defeat.

Cucurella was at fault for Isak's goal. Another poor defending led to Newcastle's second goal while Thiago Silva committed the error that led to Joelinton's goal before James was sent off.

Benching Caicedo

SinceEnzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo returned from international duty at the same time, Pochettino shouldn't have left Caicedo out of the starting lineup today and given Ugochukwu the nod. Caicedo would have stopped Newcastle players today if he started the game and this would have protected Chelsea's defence.

Delayed Changes in the second half

Pochettinoshould have instructed some early changes in the second half which could have impacted the game positively. He made his first changes in the 69th minute which is considered a bit late. Pochettino needs to improve this aspect of his game to have Chelsea firing again.
